I bought this chair for our kitchen table because my hubby wanted a taller back for back support. I tried to assemble it myself a few weeks ago, but discovered it's a 2 person job. So, I put it on the back burner until today.The fabric is a pretty blue, and has a linen/denim look, but it's polyester. It's new and not soiled, so I can't comment on cleaning it. I like the silver metal studs. They add an attractive, upper scale touch, something you don't see too often on modern furniture. The seat cushion is comfortable and well-padded. If you wanted to sit in it all the time, it might be a good idea to place a small pillow in the lumbar area.The front and back feet have different "pads" on them for lack of a more accurate term. I don't know why they're not all the same. I'm not sure it matters. We have wood floors and the chair scooches smoothly when you back up. I don't notice any marks on the floor. I will update later if needed.I would recommend this chair as a decorative chair to fill a space or to put in a place for occasional use. The primary reason is, my feet dangle off the floor. I'm 5'4" and just my toes comfortable touch. See picture. My husband is 5'8" and his entire foot doesn't rest completely on the floor either. I would also recommend this for tall people or people who have trouble getting up (elderly, hip issues) because it is a taller chair and makes it easy to slide off on to feet to a standing position.As for assembly, it does require 2 people and/or a wall to brace the chair against. See picture. The top and bottom piece are tight fitting and shift when you try to align them, so you need a wall or a person to brace it. I also recommend you start screwing with the middle hole first, cinch it down most of the way. When you do this it closes the gaps on either side of the chair and helps align the other 2 holes. That being said, the fabric interfered with screw insertion, so we had to trim the fabric a bit around the 2 outer holes and melt the edge to prevent the fabric from potentially raveling. This is hidden so don't worry about cutting a bigger hole, and you don't even really need to melt the edges. After this minor adjustment, assembly went quick.The black fabric under the seat cushion in velcro. I really like this idea. You take it off during assembly, and stick it on afterwards, and it's covered. Easy!You will need a flashlight so you can see into the hole for alignment.
